Learn how to effectively implement physical literacy & physical activity in schools.
1. Make Movement Matter Overview Presentation
K-7 | 2 hours | $500
District and school staff will learn about the Make Movement Matter program’s history, information about data analysis, and how schools can implement movement into different settings. All participants will gain a better understanding of the importance of this work and why schools are well-positioned for success.
2. *NEW* Make Movement Matter Program Overview Presentation to District Staff/Changemakers
K-12 | 2 hours | $500
District staff will learn how the program can be implemented and personalized (in big or small ways) and what is needed at the senior level to build a successful Physical Literacy/Activity Program in any district.
3. What is Physical Literacy and Why Do We Need to Care?
K-12 | 2 hours | $500
Participants will learn the difference between Physical Literacy and Physical Activity, as well as how both can be embedded into the school day. This workshop will focus on WHY we all need to care about the current research and data results. This information tells us how our children and youth are doing both physically and mentally.

4. Physical Literacy in the Classroom
K-7 | 2 hours | $500
School staff will learn how to embed Functional Movement Skills ( Physical Literacy Skills) into the classroom throughout the school day. We will share Tips and Tricks for keeping these strategies simple and affordable.

5. Movement Preparation for Every Gym Class
K-7 | 2 hours | $500
Participants will learn how to start every gym class with a Dynamic Warm up to improve balance, agility, coronation and strength. This workshop focuses on warming up with intention and how movement preparation can prevent injury and build skills before starting any game play.
6. Old School Games/An Alternate to Playground Play
K-7 | 2 hours | $500
Participants will learn 3-4 games that can be played outside or in small spaces to encourage creativity, teamwork, and build physical literacy skills. Participants will learn how to play Hopscotch, Elastics, and Jacks. All three of these games have been tested and tried using a range of ages and abilities. This is a great workshop for the fall or springtime as it provides the social aspect, helping students to build friendships, and enhance their skills. These games also help schools with overcrowded playing areas such as crammed playgrounds.
7. Brain and Body Connection Workshop
K-3 and 4-7 | 2 hours each | $500
Participants will learn how to embed Science into the teaching of movement. This workshop demonstrates how movement improves learning, increases social connectedness, improves mental health and helps students with self-regulation. This is an interactive workshop incorporating different strategies within lessons for connecting the brain and the body. This workshop is applicable for all elementary grade levels.

*Note: Participants must have completed workshop #1, 3, 5 and 6 first before receiving online support.
This online support consists of participants (all teachers or adults in the building) with access to bi-weekly Physical Health newsletters (see sample) that include lessons to be taught in the gym, games to play inside the classroom to increase physical literacy skills and increase physical activity. Participants will also receive a monthly Fitness Calendar (see sample) that is to be printed and posted in the classroom whereby students complete these daily fitness activities in the classroom. There will also be an option for caregivers to sign up for newsletters with tips for their children.

9. Make Movement Matter Handbook - a Year Long program
